Pride

Pride, often considered the most insidious of the Seven Deadly Sins, is characterized by an excessive belief in one's own abilities and a desire for admiration. This overinflated sense of self can lead to arrogance and a disregard for others. In many traditions, pride is seen as the root of many other vices and is associated with a refusal to acknowledge one's limitations.
